Cómo theGreex recopila, utiliza, almacena y protege los datos personales que nos envía a través de este sitio web.

Who we are

theGreex is a Greek food sourcing and export business based in Athens, Greece. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through this website. For any privacy question, write to panos@thegreex.gr.

What information we collect

We collect only the information you choose to send us through the contact form and the sample request form, together with limited technical data generated when you browse the site.

  • Name and company name
  • Business email address and, if you provide it, a telephone or WhatsApp number
  • Country or market you are buying for
  • The content of your enquiry, including product categories, volumes and requirements
  • Technical data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type

Why we collect it and the legal basis

Enquiry data is used to answer your request, prepare quotations, arrange samples and manage the commercial relationship that follows. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and, where a supply relationship begins, the performance of a contract.

Analytics data is used to understand which pages are useful to buyers and to improve the site. The legal basis is your consent where required by local law, and otherwise our legitimate interest in maintaining the website.

How your information is used

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use enquiry data for unrelated marketing campaigns.

  • To reply to your enquiry and send requested specifications, samples or pricing
  • To coordinate with the Greek producers required to fulfil your request
  • To keep a record of commercial correspondence for accounting and audit purposes
  • To improve the structure and content of this website

Data storage and retention

Form submissions are stored in a managed database hosted within the European Union and are also delivered by email to our sourcing team. Access is restricted to the people who need it to respond to your enquiry.

Enquiry records are kept for as long as the commercial relationship is active and for up to five years afterwards, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Where an enquiry does not lead to business, records are deleted within twenty-four months.

Sharing with third parties

We share information only where it is needed to answer your enquiry or to run the website:

  • Greek producers and manufacturers, limited to the details required to prepare samples, specifications or quotations
  • Logistics and freight partners, where a shipment is being organised
  • Our website hosting, database and email delivery providers, acting as processors under contract
  • Google Analytics, for aggregated website usage measurement

Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure page views and basic interactions such as catalogue downloads and form submissions. These cookies collect usage data in aggregated form and are not used to identify you personally.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on provided by Google. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use the site or to contact us.

Your rights under the GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email panos@thegreex.gr. We respond within thirty days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority or your local supervisory authority.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS with modern security headers. Form submissions are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we hold.

International transfers

Because we work with buyers worldwide, your details may be shared with producers or logistics partners outside the European Economic Area when this is necessary to answer your enquiry. Where that happens, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices or the services we use change. The version published on this page is always the current one.

Contact

Questions about this policy or about the data we hold: email panos@thegreex.gr or use the contact form. theGreex, Athens, Greece.
